One of the breeders i bought eggs from also has Blue ones. One of the cockerels is blue. I should not keep him as the sir correct? Or does it not matter?

if you want to breed a good blues you need a BC rooster not a Blue copper very risky .
BC rooster over a Blue copper hens will give you a great body pattern Plus will help you maintain the copper quality .
Very hard to find a good BLC rooster with a correct cooper , correct Blue shade ,and free from any parasitic white .
a Blue gene is a= dilute gene

BCM cockerel sired by Big Blue over Gazelle . great copper quality /complete body pattern but short back and very very late feathering type .NOT a Keeper . I have better cockerel than him .
his half brother sired by Day walker has a better body type than him .

Blue Mamba BLCM cockerel sired by Black Mamba over Dalakhania
his hackle is split . his shoulder color as stunning ,his Blue plumage is 100% correct ,his tail is open .
will not breed him . but I like him so he is staying ,I have a pen full of cockerels I just like has nothing to do with breeding ,just love my cockerels .

Line #1 is now 5 weeks old.
These are the chicks i hatched.
I believe 3 cockerels, 3 pullets.

The one that had the worst hatch down color? A ton of white? Hes a jerk.
Whenever i go in the pen, he runs up and pecks me. We will see how his temperment is in a few months. I despise a flogging rooster...

I notice these marans have too much feathering on their feet too.

Need help identifying if these are BCM! Bought from breeder 12 weeks ago but only one looks like a BCM. They have different colored leg bands to differentiate them one from another. Let me know if you need more pics. The white and green banded chickens are huge and almost bigger than my other roosters that are a month older.
