wow she is really prety . stunning combination of silver black and mottling .
let see how what color she will haver when fully mature .I like her a lot .I think your line is starting to mutate because is kept pure and in close cyrcle breeding .I m just guessing in here .
keep us up datted as she grow .
what you saying this pullet is not the first one to appear from your breeding program but she is the one with most mottling ?
I have to do soe reacherch my friend .
chooks man
I've had a few hens develop mottling over the years, I was thinking about doing a mottling project but I sold off most of them as egg layers, there wasn't much overall interest and I only have 2 pens so projects would require their own pen. My son is getting old enough, I might be able to tap him to help me build some pens or something.

I think this may be her mother

I have an idea of who the sire is, but he's really ugly right now due to fighting and molting.

mottling gene Mo+ is a rececive gene .he could be a carrier , the only way to know is to mate him to his daughter the mottled pullet to see what they throw.

Would that be basically the same as the white underfluff and feathers? I've noticed a lot of white and grey feathers in 2 of the 3 from this latest hatch.

Just to recap... (King's flock.)
King is loaded with white underfluff and tail feathers.
Joannie, Jett, and Betty are the OG's. Then his 3 daughters (and Prince is his son)
Dam's to the 4 are unknown. --- rookie mistake.
I thought I collected just the 3 OG hen's darkest eggs for this latest hatch which are Joannie and Betty (my darkest egg layers). But I think one of the daughters lays a dark egg.
So long story, longer... What I believe is happening is King has thrown white into his progeny which only has shown up in Prince from what I've noticed. Now if I accidently got his daughters eggs in the hatch, it's showed up in 2 of the 3 grand daughters in their hatch down and early feathering. Again, unknown Dam eggs.... rookie mistake #2.

I'm pretty sure there's a question in there somewhere but its all rambling now...😃

I'm making alot of mistakes. But I am learning and taking advise from the experts.
** I'm no longer breeding King and need to tag all breeder hens and either cull others or keep as layers only.

Building more pens as I speak but process has slowed with a recent F2 Tornado that brought 75-80 mph winds and touched down 30 miles away from me. We luckily only had 1 tree fall and mostly wind damage.
