International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

I paid a pretty penny for some Marans eggs and got 2 chicks. A white which I was expecting and a Wheaten? Which I was not. Sadly none of the BCM hatched and that's what I was wanting. Oh well, now I have two white Marans I guess I better start building a whole new pen while I look into this variety some more

Loki has finally dropped his tail, but those high feathers are already growing back (I’m not surprised, just hoped I’d get a bit more time to enjoy it). I thought I’d share some photos of him while his tail isn’t spoiling it. I feel like his body type looks better when his tail isn’t pushing his saddle up. Since he’s a year old now and moulted, making him a rooster by all definitions, I though I’d just see what people think of him now he’s an adult. I think his body seems good but is too small compared to his neck and head.

(Don’t worry, I removed that mesh from the ground, don’t know how it got there)

made it back safe and sound to the farm this early morning with a full load of roosters and hens ,. all arrieved in a good shape .took us 22,49 min trip down and up without stoping except for gaz .we travelled back at night time the high way is quite anfd the air is cooler ans fresher

great to have all in one place , it has been a long time sine I had them in a place I live in .
I left about 16 roosters and 17 hens down there for other trip, when I go to get the dogs .
worth all my effet .love my chooks been without them was said .I need to hear my roosters singing in the morning .

I thought about your comment about needing to hear your roosters singing in the morning on my way out this morning. It struck me that with Prince gone there is less crowing here. King and Kong don't compete as much now so it's quieter. I got my key out to unlock the barn and lo and behold I hear... what?
A little faint sort of crow... One of the olive eggers finally decided to try to crow. I chuckled and said to myself. "Well that didn't last long"

6 rooster i penned them with a hens 42 .ned them to get used to them and start working .need to breed from them when they are ready .
rooster names =
BC - Blackgen and Zoulou ( CTB son )
BLC = Conan son and Conan brother
Splash = Dalakhani
Red Pyle ( White copper ) Conan The colourfull ( cTB son )
Shamrock 2nd dark blue cuckoo silver/gold son of shamrock
few of them never been with hens before

last night only 2 of them went inside the coop to roost ,tonight all of them went inside .they worked it out .
