International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

I agree with that comb, I thought that immediately after seeing it. There must have been some terrible marans if that one won.
The thing is that judges seem to have one standard they apply to all breeds in a way.
What’s worse is that one of those awards is by the Marans club itself!
(Maybe I become a member and sort them out from within!)

Siberian Tiger, son of Amori rich uniform copper and great tail ,love his flat long back ,his comb blade could be better ,

Scorpion ,true brother to Siberian Tiger , both Amori s sons ,similar type but this one his back is a little shorter but better small tail .both they tails are free from any parasitic white ,

he did not want to be photographed ,just keep moving ,love his copper quality and uniformity ,full pattern

Blue copper .The Books Keeper .son of Blue copper hen Good Comb ,speckle eggs laying , fault comb with double point plus his chest is over coloured ,he will be great use over a less coloured black hens.
not as big as the others ,but well put together ,

red Dust ,big powerfull rooster ,he is all cluss ,his fault is comb with a double point ,

Blue tail Buff marans ,Sky Walker ,son of Enkido over BabyCorn ,he is elegant . very stocky
his fault is some white and blue leakage on his chest and lower part ,both his parent carry the Dom White gens ,

Updated pics - they are about 4.5wks now, growing big and feathering out well. Both are friendly, but one definitely more inquisitive and always the first to greet me/jump out of the brooder to explore. Both have big combs, getting more pink but not really red yet. And one's comb is a little bigger/more pink bit just barely. I am really hoping they aren't both Roos but I am suspecting that they are. Anyone want to weigh in?

They are just 2wks old today. Both do have mostly slate legs and both have yellow combs (but I don't think they were very dark to start? ETA I went back to hatch day pics and they were dark! They have been this lighter color this past week though). And the very tiny outer toes. They are super sweet and inquisitive View attachment 4101124
