Mating season is tough on female ducks, for sure. And, it took more than a year until my two older runner drakes decided that the newest boy, Lane (misidentified by the breeder as a girl), could be part of their little gang. There was a fair amount of nipping and running about. Now, all three chase and mount the girls during the warmer months.

And, the learning curve on how to keep them safe -- complete with losses -- is emotionally tough. Kudos to you for rehoming Milo so he was safe.

I hope Midge and Cricket integrate nicely into your flock. Welcome, Jasmine, to you and your half dozen!

Welcome to BYC. Your ducks are beautiful. Does a "pink" bill indicate female gender?? You can see I don't know much about ducks.
