Sorry to read about your rooster. Is there any way it could have been a human predator? Someone who does not appreciate the crows of a rooster and is sneaking in and killing them? A security camera would be a good investment.

I read the predator threads and since the incident happened day time; i would guess a hawk who didn't have the chance to eat his meal. I moved my security cam from the front of the house to the back and caught Blue Jay eating the eggs, and before that I was about to blame the rooster. i'm gonna look into the hotwire fencing option.

Hi! Welcome to BYC! I'm so sorry for your loss. A broken neck makes me think of a human predator. Especially since your neighbor's chickens were on your side of the fence with a broken neck. I don't know what animal would do that.
