is a crooked beak a trait

I was wondering if a crooked beak is a trait that will be passed on to offspring. I have a hen that has a slightly crooked beak, but is very pretty otherwise. If I hatch out some of her eggs will there be a danger of the chicks having it also?

It is possible. First question you have to ask is whether it is actually crooked or improperly trimmed.

It is not always a genetic fault, but the birds have enough problems getting enough food that my opinion is that encouraging egg laying or broodiness in them is a bad idea. And that is without considering inheritance issues.

Possibly a genetic trait yes.
