Tell her to major in whatever she really likes in college. (Chances are she will probably change at least once before graduation, but that's ok) The key to getting a good job these days seems to be internships. Tell her she should start looking at those as a freshmen in college, even though she may not actually do one until senior or junior year. Even if she doesn't get a job out of doing the internship, when she goes to apply for other jobs, they will scoop her up because of the experience she's had.
Tell her good luck! FInding jobs are tough right now, so it is definitely a good time to be in school. Hopefully by the time she graduates, the job market will be better. I'm hoping the same for myself! (I'm a junior in college)
