Is anyone else buying land?

*Thought I found the absolutely perfect place in Kentucky last week. Then, found the hitch-- south of town is the locale of a base for 573 tons of military chem weapons--- and they had a leak last year that went unnoticed maybe 2 days! Yeah, o.k. -- NOT!!!!!

You looking to get out of florida?

For that price yes I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

Besides I was a total skeptic before I saw a ghost with my own eyes. I would have thought the people were cracked if they had told me there was a ghost in the house; I would have never believed it.

I’m not at all afraid of him; he just seems like he’s sort of lost. I feel kind of sorry for him.

Do you have any inkling who he might have been? I would be looking all over the property for a grave or something. Who knows, it could be an unsolved mystery. Now that would be interesting. How often do you see this man? I'm nosy sorry!

I would soooooo buy a haunted house!

OH MY GOODNESS! Where in Kentucky. Hubby and I have been looking into Kentucky 'cause we've been so impressed by their prices too. Hopefully not anywhere near Ashland.

* Oh, baby!! Yep-- want to go, chomping at the bit. Starting to feel like we are pacing a concrete zoo around here!!! The politicos and developers have worked overtime the past decade or so to just ruin the place. Plus, it's hotter, bigger hurricanes, creepier critters, some of them 2-legged. Lost all the home town feel and then some, I think. Too bad, too.

Word of wisdom concerning West Texas. There is absolutely nothing out that way. Nothing. Go past Castroville on I-10 and you run out of civilization right quick. It is also HOT HOT HOT out there. Not much water and HOT. West on I-40 out of OK in to TX isn't much better, except then you have snow and ice in the winter and HOT in the summer. Think Amarillo. Tornados, snow and huge thunderstorms. Same with New Mexico anywhere along the TX border. Some beautiful country but no where to work, no major hospitals should you be of the age where you don't work but might be ill.......seriously ill.

I love Texas and spend a great deal of time there. West of Austin, in the Hill Country, is fantastic. Expensive but fantastic. Our large horse farm here in Michigan is for sale and we are headed there to TX! North East Texas is nice. Good farm land and grazing for livestock. Much more water available, rain and wells! Far enough way from the coast to avoid hurricanes. Mild winters. Nice folks too. Lovely small towns but larger cities within about an hour or so. Try about an hour west of Texarkana.....

Good hunting!

I have “felt his presents” quite often over the last two years, not at all the first year.

I have seen him twice and one of my daughters has seen him once.

I’ve had him walk up behind me and whisper in my ear once while I was doing dishes; I didn’t understand what he said but I heard a voice and felt what felt like breath on my ear.

And I’ve had him call out to me from across the house about ordinary things that go on during the day like he thinks he’s part of the family and a part of our lives.

I have no idea who he is but I feel pretty sure if he is buried on the property that I know where he is. There is an abandoned septic tank behind the house that was supposed to have been filled with sand and sealed when they put in the new system.

I have two 150-pound mastiffs that won’t leave the tank alone; they keep trying to dig it up. I have had to cover it with wood and cinder blocks to keep the dogs from digging it up and even then they try to dig around the wood to get to it. I have always heard that dogs will behave that way when they come across a body. I just don’t want to call anyone to come dig it up and then have to try and explain why; they will put me in a rubber room.

Hahaha nah I don't think so. But.....I don't know how your curiosity isn't eating at you? Do you think he's a recent deceased? Or from earlier times? What does your husband think about another man being in the house?

I understand THAT. You should have seen the Keys 35 years ago. Today......it's a slab of pavement 120miles long. Garbage everywhere. I am so anxious to leave. Should have happened last year, but I procrastinate. The developers have ruined South Florida period. Uggggh. What i don't get is, every house they build looks the EXACT same. Could you imagine going home after a couple of cocktails? Guessing which house may be yours?
