i have 2 juvenile female pekins.theyve been laying since last july.recently ive noticed one will climb on the others back and grab it by the back of its neck and dunk the other one repeatedly.are they just playing or something cause it dont seem like good fun to me ? lol

i cant say if its just one picking on the other bc i cant tell mine apart.theyre identical as far as my untrained eye can tell.

Are you sure they are both layong eggs and not just one??
Because it sounds like one is mateing the other... but thats how the males mate the females.
It could be confused about its own gender??

well.i havent held them down and sexxed them bc im 99% sure theyre both female bc the male tends to have the curled tailfeathers and when they started laying eggs i just assumed i was right bc i get 2 eggs every morning just like clockwork.

Thats odd!! Im not sure about pekin males (i only have a female in that breed) but some males dont get curls...
They could be fighting i agree if not a male..... just sounds very much like mating.

I recently thought my pekins were both female. But i have found out one is male, doesnt have the curl in the tail unless i pick him up and look and i see the smallest of curl in a feather almost like it is just starting maybe. They are 18-19 weeks old. The clue for the male was the voice. It is not a quack but more raspy.
