Being broody for nothing is hard on them. They lose weight and nothing in return. I break mine by locking them out of desired nest site. Takes two days.

Ok thank you! I will lock the house when I let them in the run.

This is her standing and preening. Her silly self. Has a stressed momma worrying abot her lol

Not sure of your location and she looks to be going into a Molt. She might not lay eggs again till spring after a good rest. Most are seasonal layers. All mine are done till next spring.

We are in Pa! They have laid eggs all year this past year, even through our -4 degree winter. I noticed my other duck didnt lay today either.

Yes, they were young first time layers. Same thing with young Chickens they lay lots the first year..

Good to know! Will it be obvious to me if she actually goes binded? They really did give us good eggs every single day this past year, except a few days here and there. I read pekins can lay up to 200 eggs a year but we have clearly surpassed that lol

She keeps doing this with her tail (and her little wing twitch) not sure if she is relaxing or what. Now I think I’m overthinking this lol

Definitely you will know something is wrong. They go lame, stop eating a discharge from the vent, tail down. Straining as if to poop. The sciatic nerve gets pinched so causes them to not walk..
