Ooh this one is tricky. This coloring can go either way with Easter Eggers. I’m leaning pullet from the rounded hackle feathers, but leaning cockerel because of the reddening comb and thick legs. Repost pics in about a month, that should give this one time to show his/her real gender.
I agree with the poster above. It appears that your EE is showing signs that of a pullet. Aside from the legs, structure, feathering (which she/he may be too young for), time is likely to tell. Within a month or so, report back to us and it may be easier for identification. In the meantime, keep watch for signs of behavior and crowing.
Trying to 'stand up' to an older hen may be something a cockerel will do. Slightly timid when approached by a bird of the same age, can be opposite.
One month is pretty young to tell, but best of luck! Beautiful birds.
The first two pics say "pullet", but that last one, where the comb is really red, says "Cockerel". My EE is 16 weeks old right now, and her comb is still a pale peach.
Thanks guys! That’s how I felt too I thought pullet but the comb was making me question it. It just started turning pink, looks a little more red in the picture than it really is and size wise the comb is still small hasn’t grown yet but time will tell. I’ll post pictures when he/she is a little older like you said.
