Is Purely Poultry a reliable hatchery?

I ordered 10 of the Emory Penciled Indian Runner Ducks. They must contract that duck out because they were shipped from North Dakota. It was during a bitter cold snap and all arrived very healthy and strong. I was very surprised. They sent one extra and all survived. I'm totally in love with ducks!

Maybe try IDEAL then, but stick to the normal colors like black and white. They don't seem to have as many problems.

I purchased from purely poultry, and had excellent chicks arrive. But I also paid for the 90 day guarantee. Yes, the “insurance” made it expensive, but twice ordered and each time had lovely, healthy chicks!
Sadly, the owner was in a car accident, and severely injured. And the website has since been taken down…

Thanks for this information. We've ordered Cornish X from Purely Poultry for many years. Went to see what prices are and they have vanished completely. Google didn't turn up much. Thankfully I had to presence of mind to search BYC.

You're one of the lucky ones! It appears they took orders up until they closed and didn't respond to phone calls or emails.When they didn't offer refunds for orders they didn't fill complaints were filed against them (at the Better Business Bureau) My order for 10 pullet chicks in 2021 was delayed twice. Instead of receiving 10 Dominique pullets no substitutions I got a mix of cockerels and pullets of both Dominiques and barred rocks. The label actually stated what I ordered but didn't mention substitutions were made.Worst of all they failed to notify me when they shipped. I waited 2 years before placing another order at a hatchery because of my bad experience with them
