Is she egg bound

Paige still seems kind of weak and is reluctant to stand up or walk. So, I put her in an infirmary shelter, next door to her flock. I have never in my life been so happy to see an egg!

I'm happy she laid the egg! Congrats.

What do you normally feed her daily?

Sometimes after they lay a shelled egg there is an un-shelled one right behind it and this can make them feel pretty miserable. If mine I think I would offer more of that calcium powder and maybe do another soak.

Paige, likes all the runners, eats a regular layer feed daily. There is also a pan of the crushed oyster shell that the chickens free-feed from that is available to the ducks when everyone is loose during the day.

Is it odd, then, that only one duck seems to have a calcium deficiency? All my ducks come from the same breeder, so presumably, same breeding stock, within a year or two of the same age.

I will continue to give her calcium today and bring her back into the house.

Thanks again, everybody!

Paige spent the night in the infirmary coop by herself, but adjacent to the others. This morning, she was in exactly the same place where I placed her last night. She has had some water and ate a bit -- including some peas that were covered in crushed calcium pills, but when I opened the door, she struggled to get out and seems unable to walk. It's as if her legs won't support her. Is there something else going on or is this the aftermath of her very bad Sunday egg problem?

I really think if you can do it getting her to a vet would be best. An egg pressing on a nerve can cause leg weakness. Giving her calcium gluconate is really the best for being egg bound. But if you have calcium pills @casportpony has info on giving the pill orally. I am giving one of my Runners an antibiotic by mouth if I can do it you can.
