Could be a second generation Red Sexlink. If you breed a Red Sexlink rooster to a Red Sexlink hen I'm pretty sure they all come out red.

In my project I did many years ago I wanted to see what breeding the ISA Browns, what the chicks would look like. White was the dominant gene. The brown ones and the gray one in the first picture are males.

Looks like a Buff Orpington X Rhode Island Red cross Cockerel.I was told this is a isa brown x chicken but to me it looks like a rooster!
It's what you were told it is in my opinion..I was told this is a isa brown x chicken but to me it looks like a rooster!
You may be correct, it didn't happen with my experiments. It all depends on the males and females used. I did a project with Rose Combs. These are females from the same hatch.Could be a second generation Red Sexlink. If you breed a Red Sexlink rooster to a Red Sexlink hen I'm pretty sure they all come out red.
The chicks were from ISA Brown male and ISA Brow females as in the picture I previously posted in this thread. Those were the way the chicks hatched out, mostly white. I wasn't trying to get white just that it happened. Were you selecting mostly white ones for your project? Or were they really that high a percentage of white birds? (I would have expected about 50/50 white/brown in both sexes.)
