No those are very real. They keep them in a special pen that keeps the chicken from moving around and breaking the feathers. They even pull up the feathers near their fanny to keep poop off them. I'm not sure if my spelling is right but it's called a Tomeko. It's like a tall cabinet with a window the chicken faces to see out. They take them out for a walk every day for excercise. They are called Onagadori. They are a Japanese chicken and there are no pure breed in our country. What we have here are decendants from the ones that where brought here back in 1940 at the world fair that only a small handful of people got any of. What those people did was use those birds and mixed them to try to get close to the same characteristics. There are always disputes about this. That I won't get into here.
