Hey Y'all!

Got these "pullets" back in the very end of March. 3 Black Aussies, 3 Amberlinks...supposed to all be pullets. I have one Aussie who is small, but ballsy as all get out, and with a flipped tail, and LOUD. She's also highly inquisitive. She talks the most smack all the time, and flies the highest, and does the most stuntman stuff. Her name is Baby Ruth, but I wonder if she might be a Baby Reginald. I'll post pics of all 6 and any help in sexing them would be awesome!

Thank y'all so much! I feel very lucky, sheesh. I was sure Baby Ruth would crow soon; she's just such a Boss Hogg. There's also a lot of mini-confrontations; they'll run up to each other chest to chest, look square in the eye, fluff out their neck feathers, and then one will break the stare and they go their own ways. Is this normal pullet behavior? I've gathered that both Amberlinks and Australorps are great with people but can be bossy in the flock.

How soon do you imagine they'll start laying? The nesting box isn't prepared because I thought it would be until Fall. Are there signs I can look for?

That’s typical chicken behavior, they are establishing the pecking order.
They will start laying when they are 18-22 weeks of age. Squatting is an indication that the pullet/hen is coming into lay.
