Is this animal abuse?

Leaving a goat teathered for their safety isn't wrong. Neither is keep ing chickens in a coop and run 24/7
I mean keeping a chicken confined to a coop. I don’t think it’s okay to leave a goat tied to something all day every day. Do you want to be tied to something every day?

I agree with that as long as their tethered with a long enough tether.
Our tethers for goats were about 4-6 feet long, but they could walk in a whole circle and graze. They were always eager to go out on them though so they must not have been thinking it was too short

Hobbling and tethering are two completely different things. IMO, hobbling constantly is neglect, and tethering is not.

A hobble is a rope, or band that binds the legs together so they can't move quickly. Keeping an animal like this constantly is neglect.

I agree. If they're hobbled, that's not cool in my book, but usually that's left for horses, plus it's just not very common anymore. That's why I originally wanted clarification

One of the moat neglectful things though is leaving them dead in the poem. Who knows what they dies of , disease, starvation... in any case it's neglect at least.
