Is this egg shrink wrapped?

sorry I tried to post a picture when I first posted. I believe it's up there now!

Magpie duck.
It is there now. What day are you at and how long since it pipped externally? If it were mine I would leave it alone, as in I wouldn't start "assisting", but I would keep an eye on it.

Sounds about perfect. Ducks take longer than chicks to zip out, but i still expect the hen would help if necessary. is she an experienced momma?
I didn't know that, interesting! Well, kind of. Last time she was broody I had to put her eggs in the incubator because she would get off for hours on end. She seems to be doing about 100X better this time around though. Since duck eggs take longer than chicken eggs I think she got confused a few days ago why her eggs weren't hatching, and stated getting off the nest like 5 times a day. But after I moved her away from the other chickens on day 25 and that she knows her eggs are hatching she seems much happier and is sitting tight.

Multi quote isn't working today so please excuse the multiple posts.

I will check back in with an update if there is one tonight.

The Duckling in the original post hasn't hatched yet. However we have welcomed to the world a little stanbridge white boy! ( i think it's a boy anyway.

Also, mama pecks it. Is she trying to tell it to go under her or is she being mean?
