My neighbor a few weeks ago got his property surveyed, that was fine...but then he started tresspassing on our property. So my mom and I put up a property line with fence and horse wire with "posted" signs and white plastic to show the line we made SURE to line it up exactly with the property pins. Well, today sometime our neighbor put his own rope line up there, and he moved it three feet over on to our property. One, he tresspassed even when it was posted... and two he was saying he owned 3 foot of our property
. So I called my mom who was on her way home and told her the issue she was fuming mad....as was I (still am but trying to calm down lol
) she came home and she called our neighbor over and showed him the pins... mean while he walked up IN My face and told me (while pointing at me) that if I call his wife a foul name EVER again.... (and he trailed off) I took this as a threat and I said "I have NEVER used that phrase let a lone say it to her! She called me a smart *butt* and I didn't say anything after it other than to keep her dog on her own property or I will be forced to shoot it because my birds are WAY too valuable to me to loose them! He then proceeded to say that his dog has NEVER been on our property (that I was lying) and I was astonished! I was so angry and we bickered back and forth and I said "well all I'm saying is IF he gets on our property I WILL Shoot him if he goes after my birds!" and he goes "ooh you do that and you'll have the law on your hands" and I go "no I won't it's NOT Illegal to shoot a dog that's harrasing your birds!" He goes "you are not allowed to shoot ANYONES dogs ever!" So after he was prooven wrong about the property line (promising to fix it tomorrow) we parted our ways with him telling ME that I better 'watch it" and that I "cause trouble" and I said 'well I appreciate my privacy and I hate seeing your face everyday over here!" <--YES that was immature but he was threatening me and I dont take well to that at all. Don't treat me bad and I won't treat you bad.
NOW this isnt what im asking if im being immature or not.... what I am asking about is the dog law... my mom is like 'Niki you know that it IS illegal to shoot a dog it has to kill your birds for you to shoot it!" and I go "NO it doesnt I will look it up and proove you wrong"...so I did, and im right... all the dog has to do is "PERSUE" my birds and I can shoot him without ANY CONSIQUENCE on my part. Mind you our neighbors have not allowed their dog on our property in weeks which is wonderful... but that he started the issue today so I wanted to make it clear to him that I would take the means necc. to shoot their dog ON OUR property if he's going after my birds. Mind you growing up this dog has killed 2 of our chickens, and one day we woke up to him stuck in our chicken netting being shocked by the netting trying to get at our birds (not these birds i have now) we let him go and never said anything to the neighbors.... while the neighbors wife takes this dog for a walk he has killed atleast 2 of the other neighbors ducks...mind you the ducks were on the road but still...this is how "BIRD crazy" this dog is.
I should have told him "well if your dog DOESNT come on our property ever then you have nothing to worry about?" but alas I didn't think about it.
Well the thing is, I want our neighbor to know the law, so I printed out the info (as according to my mom they do not have the internet) so that's fine I printed it out for them.

and here is what I wrote at the bottom I was going to mail this to them, but instead my mom said she'd happily take it over to them (she's more able to hold her temper than I am in situations like this so this is fine with me I want my privacy I want nothing more to do with them other than to make sure they know the law and that they know I am not lying....).
Is what I wrote immature? Is it unneeded? These are older people in their late 50s or early 60s (know that's not OLD but they are old fashioned and think that they can do no wrong that dogs should run free etc--I was chased by this dog as a kid, as well as their other dogs that have sinced passed on). I printed out two of the same thing, one with this writting and the other blank, do I send them the extra commentary or do I just send over the blank at the bottom one?
