Is this legal? Any attorneys out there? Long rant. Update page 9.

My DD works at a MD's and more than likely he was a shift manager, call the store manager of that restraunt and if that does not work, call the franchise owner. I highly doubt they want to lose that business, it sounds more like that shift manager doesn't want to work. MDs are normally very appreciative of the heads up before the crowd.
Businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone, but I don't think they will turn you away if you just show up.

I have worked in fast food too, but these are good kids. That's why the manager is always so surprised at their good behavior when we have gone there before. Which I find a little insulting, being so surprised that my students can behave well. But I would not tolerate anything less than excellent behavior from them.

what an a**

there was a person who called 911 because her burger was not right and they arrested her when they got there, so what ever you do dont call 911 but the news channels well thats a good idea. Isnt there someplace a little healthier you could take them to or maybe bring a bagged lunch? I can see I am gonna have issues with my ds and class trips if that where they are taken to eat. Not critisizing just my own opinion. Good luck!

On lots of our local FFplaces and gas station are signs posted, that only allow a few students at a time. But legally he can refuse service to anyone, wether minority or not.

If there were 30 cars lined up at the drive through or even 30 random people in line at the counter..is he going to refuse them then? nope! he'd hussle his butt and SERVE them!!...i'd go and if he gives you trouble just call the news..and the district manager...heehe, he wont be a manager for long. Also..what do they do if they get a rush somedays? i can guarantee you that they DO NOT refuse to serve people. I worked in the restaurant business for many years... and rushes are just part of the job...its stressful and crazy..but ooh well..get another job if you dont like it..i did.

i'd bring those kids..you were nice enough to forewarn him...its his fault if he's not prepared tomorrow.

I would probably take them anyways, but also go to the McDonalds site and you can write a review of that McDonalds and tell what happend today. All you have to do is click the contact us button then hit resturant review. I filed a complaint on a Mcdonalds for employees using fowl language and the manager was 1 of them. Never saw him in the resturant again after that. I would also write another after the trip telling how things went. I am sure that even if the manager didn't want the hastle McDonalds itself will not put up with a manager acting that way no matter who the owner is.

I have also gone to the McDonalds site to write a review on one of their resturant's and the district manager called me the next day. They want to know what goes on in their resturant's.

I would go in, be on your best behavior and if he gives you any trouble the I would report him.

I'd take them, but I would also go in with the orders already lined up...say 15 quarter pounders, ten orders of nuggets, 30 orders of fries and drinks...make it as easy as possible for the restaurant. You were doing a courtesy visit, if you had just showed up I'm sure you would not have been turned away. It may be an inconvience, but it is the lunch rush and they should be able to handle it.

Does MickeyDs even have regulars, besides the geezers who sip one cup of coffee for four hours?

Oh man- I would take them anyway. Have 3 chaperones, and tell him they are in 3 groups. and very loudly so everyone else can hear ask him if he is still going to refuse service to your students.

The kids will probably just order fries and cokes. The manager is more interested in customers that super size more expensive orders.

But in business, you have to take the small orders along with the big ones. Go ahead and use that McDonalds. They probably won't say anything.
