Is this normal post hatch??

That's good. Good to know it's working.

Hopefully you have chicks that will stay on their bellies for you. Flipping over once, or twice is normal though.
Yes. It was just painful to watch him on his back twitching like that. He looks much happier now. I think I'll name him Twitch. His one wing looks a little longer and floppier... But hard to tell if it's just hanging like that because he was on that awkward position for awhile.

They'll hold their wings like that for balance.

She/he should like the other chicks when they arrive.

What breeds are you hatching?
I have 10 backyard mix eggs that were from Easter Eggers, Isa Browns and others, she's from a brown egg and I have a couple blueish eggs pipped. And I also have 10 pure lavender orphingtons. Those ones went in a day later and none have pipped... But I'm hoping they'll start later today or tomorrow 🤞

Barnyard mixes are always fun.

EEs are already mixes, so mixing EE with whatever else still gives you EEs.

No [h] in Orpington:p. Orps are one of my favorites. I'm working on a new color variety.

I myself also have one egg that was put in the incubator 1 day later then the other 3. Wishing you luck.
