Is the silver pencil bantam cochin in the APA/ABA SOP 44th Edition or any other standard.

I know the variety is accepted but is it in the books?

Silver penciled is not an accepted color. The APA lists all the bantam breeds and colors it recognizes here, and silver penciled cochin bantams are not listed. Unless they have been accepted more recently than March of this year, which is when this page was last updated. And in that case, they wouldn't be in SOP until the 45th addition comes out.

Thank you!
I asked a judge if they were recognized and he said , "Yes."

Maybe he thought you said silver laced? That's all I can think of, don't know why a judge wouldn't know what's accepted, lol.
I showed hom a picture.
I also showed some cochins and they did well, sooooo.....

Well that's all really odd. And this was an APA show? You can still show colors that aren't recognized, but you can't take Grand Champion with them, etc.

No... I wish!
It was a county fair but the judge goes off og the 2001 APA Standard of Perfection.

It happens. Went to an APA shows last year where there was at least two judges.
Watched a lavender orpington pullet and lavender orpington cockerel take ribbons for blue Orpington variety.
