Is this what a duck's first egg would look like?

I have what I think is a Buff Orpington duck that is about 15 weeks. She’s recently started acting strange and spending more time in the nesting box on the floor of the coop. I went out just now to check on them and I found this egg in the box. I also have a gold sexlink that lays huge brown eggs but they’ve never had bumpy weird shells like this. I’ve attached a pic of the egg next to the gold sex link egg and one of my Wyandotte eggs for comparison. The egg in question has a crease in the center and lots of weird bumps. It also feels like the shell might be thin. What do you guys think? Duck egg or no?

I’m no expert, but I don’t think that’s a duck egg. Duck eggs have thicker shells, but lumpiness isn’t typical. My buffs are older than yours and they aren’t laying yet.

I was thinking it was really early to see an egg. So your buffs look like mine? I’m not really sure that’s what she is but I think she has a little bit of a crested gene because of her weird feather spot on her head.

I have never seen a crest like that. Lol. She looks like an Indian with a feather in her hat.(not indian runner, but literally a Native American)

I love both types of ducks you have! So pretty. Black Swedish is one of my favorites.

My friend is always pranking his wife with potatoes, creek rocks, plastic eggs, whatever he can find. She's actually been fooled a few times. Don't worry though, he's in Georgia, not Texas.

this is perfectly normal these ducks typically practice laying eggs for there first eggs. Some will be small some will be large some will have no shell and some will be deformed. Trust me your all good

My Buffs only laid white or blue eggs. But first eggs are often strange. I have had very tiny eggs with no yolk. Tiny eggs with yolk and eggs with no shell. Just wait it out and she will get her hormones adjusted after a few weeks. I ate all of them and I am still alive!
