Why are they catching sharks?

because they are there lol

I mean same reason you catch other fish. To eat or for sport. This was for sport. They turned them loose. People do it. I have caught them, but only one on purpose. She didn’t know them. Just happen to be walking by when they were catching the first one. Stayed around awhile and they latched into the Tiger a short time later. It took both boys a long time to get it in. She said they had to sit down on the sand and dig a hole to anchor their feet in to keep from getting pulled in. They made the comment that it was the biggest they had ever caught.

That was a decent size Tiger Shark. They get a hell of a lot bigger, though. And, they are one of the more aggressive sharks.

And, this was not at the Alabama Coast, but a little further down in Destin Fla. Destin is where I caught the only shark I ever caught on purpose and the biggest. I didn't catch it at Destin, but out of Destin on a Charter at night just to go shark fishing. It was a 14 ft. Dusky Shark. This was actually back when Destin was only a small fishing town with one single story hotel and 3 bars when I was a youngin. It was strictly for fishing. Of course, you can still charter out of there, but it is a big resort town now. I was down with my Dad deep sea fishing and I talked him into chartering this, too. So, officially it was my shark, but I couldn't get it in all by myself. So, it was our shark. Great memory with my Dad being out in the Gulf all night, and being successful at something that was kind of almost movie like for a kid who had only seen sharks on tv.

I have caught others on trips when you are fishing for something else since, but normally 3-4 long.

My piercer contacted me and told me that she is still technically training with scarification, so she cannot do mine. She recommended I go to one of our state's finest artists, but it is too far for me.
