I agree. My one brother in law is obsessed with brand names. Refuses to buy clothes that aren't North Face, Underarmour, or Columbian. He buys Oakley sunglasses then gets pissed when he loses them in the lake while jet skiing. R word

I will unrepentantly admit Oakley are one thing I will absolutely buy time and time again. They have the darkest tint and best polarizing lenses I've found. Maui Jim were a bit darker, but they were crap quality and fell apart in less than a year. I usually get 3-4 years out of a pair of Oakleys so even though they're pretty spendy, I am OK with it. Protecting your eyes in the harsh desert sun matters, ya know?

PS. Metal frames. Not the dorky plastic garbage. And I have cheap "throw away" shades for the river/lake/camping just in case I lose them

I bought Dollar Tree glasses for vacation a couple years ago. Was glad I did.
