Isa's Homestead Happenings and Hangout

I have never seen one in my entire life. Neither has anyone else in my house. Everyone thought they were funny-looking hawks, because there were no vultures this far north. 😂 Thank you both! I need to print that picture. 😃
We have a ton of turkey vultures here. I prefer black vultures, but we don’t see them as much.

I will get back to the conversaiton in a moment. But first, are these frigging things vultures!?

Yes. You have never seen turkey vultures? They are all over here. Fun fact about turkey vultures: when they eat something that has salmonella, their stomach neutralizes it and they don't get sick

I have only ever seen a vulture in I'll Be Home For Christmas. 😅

I am starting to think those are vultures that I keep seeing flying. I can never tell if they are eagles or hawks, because they just do not look like either. I guess I was right in thinking that they were too weirdly shaped and too big to be either of the others (except a bald eagle. Those things are just ginormous and easily identifiable even to us near-sighted folks). 🤔

Hammer down!!

That phrase usually meant having an exceptionally fun or exciting time.
My boss/the owner said that when I first got to the restaurant, there was a lot of disappointment among the front and back staff. I do not know if it was because I am a bit of a tank, or because I am a girl (the kitchen is a manly gathering 🤣). Anyway, he says that I am now, and I quote, "The star of the kitchen." I still have no idea where they are getting those thoughts. If they think I am fun now, they should have seen me at Walmart. My last 2 jobs killed my personality and willingness to screw around and have fun. Maybe he meant it like I am a star going nova? 🤔
