Pics
Oh and my roo was in the box again today showing 2 of my girls, that aren't even close to laying, a good place to lay. I got a couple snapshots from my cam. Not the best pics but still funny.

Has your BCM laid yet? I know you had a few laying but wasn't sure if she was one. I checked Annabelle and MarshmallowS pelvic bones today today and Annabelle still seemed close but Marshmallow seemed further apart.
Nope, BCM hasn't started yet... she was in the coop and I test-placed her into a nest box gently.... . . she ran outta there like she got electrocuted LOL. However, my buff orp has been acting highly sus. She goes into the coop a LOT this week... today she even went into a nest box and scratched around. I discovered that she has 2+ finger separation which surprised me - she might be next!!!

Ugh was hoping she had started so I had a better idea when mine would. Lol. Omg on her running out that is too funny!!!

Woohoo on the buff orp!

The main ones of mine that go into the coop I think are 2 that aren't close to laying. Lol. My 2 that I think are close go in but not as much. But hard to tell since I have 2 light Brahmas so hard to tell apart. The black on their neck is different and now 1 has a red comb, wattles and face and the other is barely pink but hard to tell at times when I watch the camera on who is who...

I am dying for someone else to start laying!!!!! Noone new in 2.5 weeks. Lol

I love this. How cute!!! He is being such a good roo! :love
He is really so sweet! And such a gentleman with the ladies. I read non stop how young roos were so hard on the ladies and mating them non stop all day long. The only time I ever saw feather fly from the ladies was before they were ready to mate and he would try. They would freak out and run away while he was holding on. Now he is very gentle and in a week I only catch him mating the 2 girls laying a few times. I am not out there 24/7 but out a lot. And he is good with us.

Congratulations! It is super-exciting no matter how many times it happens!

We just got the first egg from one of our 5-month old Silkies yesterday. She looked at it like, "what the heck is that"????? :)
5 months? Mine are almost seven months and they still have no interest in laying ! Btw congrats on the egg! My Cochin just layed her first egg yesterday! 🥰🐔💙

WOOHOO Congrats!!!!! would love to see a pic of your Cochin egg and maybe the one that laid it. I think one of mine is close going by comb and wattle size/color so would be nice to see what one that is laying looks like. How old is she?

It seems good roos can be hard to come by... you and the girls are lucky! :love
