Both Nugget and Hummer laid eggs that were 43g today. a bit smaller than Hummers last couple that were 44/45g (the scale would bounce between them). But the biggest that Nugget has laid I think. She has been laying about 3.5 weeks so maybe they are starting to get a tad bit bigger.

No one else has laid. They all just like to walk up to the coop door, peek in maybe walk around, not near the boxes, then leave. LOL brats!!!!!!!!! But guess technically they shouldn't lay until 6-7 mo for Marshmallow (and Rosie), and 8-9 mo for Annabelle (Ditzy and Fajita too)....... but I thought it would be a LOT sooner for Annabelle and Marshmallow going by comb. They will be 6 mo on Fri/Sat so hopefully Marshmallow will be soon at least.

She is sooo pretty. Feathers look great to me.
Thanks! She is a little wild right now still since she's younger... she is a super fast runner LOL

I think one of the Wyandottes laid their first egg today... in the run... . . . There was a tiny cream colored egg that was being savaged. I saw it happening from the back door, and by the time I got out there it was all gone. Shell and all LOL... so idk, really. They are the only ones ready to lay that should lay that color though, and the one part of the shell I saw before it was ingested was super-first-egg small.

Marshmallow and Annabelle might still surprise you!

I only got eggs from 3/5 today... Nugget has taken the last 3 days off and Zoingo ghost egged me this morning.

wow your Nugget is taking a LONG break! I was shocked that mine didn't take more than a day off after her 7 days in a row! Those ghost eggs crack me up especially when followed by an egg song!! haahaa Hummer doesn't even bother going in the nest box or coop if she doesn't have to lay that day, unlike Nugget that goes in like clockwork.

Poor Hummer again this morning went in when Nugget was in there. She didn't put up as much of a battle this time with trying to wait so hopefully she is getting better with sharing the coop when she needs to lay. LOL

Who knows with Marshmallow and Annabelle. I was so excited a couple weeks ago waiting (hoping my theory was right) then just felt so deflated when nothing came. hahaa Then thinking maybe it would be 2 weeks after Nugget started laying since Nugget was 2 weeks after Hummer....... then let down again. Now I figure it is just going to take forever so at least no more let downs. haahaa. Just pure excitement when they finally do lay. :)

For sure - when they finally lay that egg it's gonna feel like the "flock first" all over again! Worth it!

I really hope my Nugget lays tomorrow so I can stop beinga spaz... I have been getting in my head like, what if she's egg bound or something.... she looks fine and is eating, etc, but she did seem a little "off" today... or maybe I'm just crazy. Keeping an eye on her for sure!

I understand being worried. After Hummer laid her first it was a full week before the 2nd one. I had heard a couple days between or strange eggs etc. but the full week made me nervous and I kept an eye on her! It is hard no to worry when they are your babies!

And yes it will definitely feel like a flock first again once they lay!

Hummer went in late for her today around 1:20 (normally she does this on day 5 or 6 of laying) and she has been in the box for almost 1 hr 15 min and is still in there! She NEVER takes this long. Not sure if it is because everyone else has decided that it is a good time to pop in and check out the coop so she doesn't have her peace and quiet or what...... but I must say it is making me a bit nervous. But then I think that I am just being silly because most people don't stalk their boxes and know if the chicken goes in late or is in there for a long time..... haahaa.

I 100% do the same. It's okay to be weird lol! Moon sometimes spends that much time in the box... to ghost egg me. Everyone has laid here today except Nugget again. :idunno
