IT HAPPENED!!!

I'm so proud of Zoingo... she gave us 5 eggs in her first 7 days of laying! They are pretty fun to look at... here's a pic of them in order from start of lay! (We blew out her first egg to keep - you can see the hole in the bottom )


Still waiting on the other girls to start... but they have been checking out the nest boxes a lot in the past couple of days so I think it will be soon!

that is great and so cool!!!!!!!!!!! My EE laid on a Sun, took a full week for her 2nd so that was last Sun then laid Tue, Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat. it seems to be around 26-27 hrs apart from the times I have seen her in the nest box on my camera. So thinking she MAY go in the next box in a couple hours if she is going to lay today.

BUT I pulled up my camera today and caught my Salmon Faverolle in the nest box this morning so thought she may have laid (we were camping and heading home today) got home and was going to check but pulled up the camera first and she was back in the box. So waited till she was out and checked and got my first egg from her!!!!!!!!!!!! Still so exciting!! now to see when she lays her 2nd egg.

I have 1 cochin that seems really close so thinking maybe in the next week for her. then another 4 that I think still have a bit to go till they start.

Ahhh!! That is the best! Congrats on another new layer! do you have any pics of her egg? I've heard the Salmon Favorelles have a kind of pinkish/cream egg? I love to see other ppls egg pics

That is her egg and my EE egg. It is more of a light tan. Was hoping for more of a cream/ pink color. Seems my chickens don't like color since my EE's eggs are such a pale blue they look white depending on lighting. Lol

Congrats! we are celebrating the same. My brown leghorn Katniss gave us our first on Tuesday and as of this morning we have collected 5 this week too! I’m very envious you saved all five for comparison. Once I had three I had my first breakfast so I’ve only got 3 to sit next to each other today. Our other 3 birds haven’t laid but fingers crossed they join her. Best of luck next week!!

They do look cool next to each other. I still have all 7 of my EE eggs. I should line them up and take a pic.
