It’s also fitting that she was named as such. I named her long before she ever began laying…it was very ironic that her eggs should be speckled.That's so interesting... its like her own seal of approval/trademark. Neat that it's easy to tell which ones are hers!

...that's so cute that it ended up that way. She is absolutely beautiful!wow that egg looks HUGE! Hummers are still tiny. I haven't opened any yet. I have 9 eggs so far between her and my 1 from my SF so should probably make something soon. LOL so jealous of the double yolker! hoping I get some from some of my girls. Read it is common for beginner eggs but don't see how Hummers could be as they are all so little. LOL Guessing the 9 I have would equal maybe 4.5-5 large eggs.
It is torture waiting for the 2nd egg I have to say! Hoping Nugget (my SF) doesn't take as long as Hummer did between #1 and #2!She does lay beautifully shaped eggs!
I think their little eggs are kind of cute. I feel bad that she laid this monster egg today because she's still so new to it... ouch! Not at all weird! I'm so excited bc I have six 4-week old Doms, I've never had Doms before. It'll be a while before I get their first eggs. Meanwhile my 2- and 3-yo EE, BL and BA hens are really slowing down as they move into molt. Wah!I feel like a weirdo because I love to look at them. now I love seeing everyone's different varieties and getting bad chicken math ideas for the future....I am non stop looking at mine and sending everyone pics of each egg I get. She is actually the breed my 18 yr old daughter picked out so she named her Nugget. LOL
Well at least I'm not alone in my egg craze haha.I am non stop looking at mine and sending everyone pics of each egg I get.
