Your egg bowl is just beautiful. Before having chickens I truly didn’t realize how diverse they all can be. Your variety of breeds is exciting. My green eggs have the most beautiful tough shell. Could tell whose it was with my eyes closed.
Oh my gosh... Im so glad you said that about your green eggs. My girl Silver (Olive egger) lays the most pretty olive colored eggs... and her shells are VERY NOTICEABLY tougher/thicker? than the other girls. I wonder if there is some green egg magic going on here...

The other girls always have good, hard shells... but Silver's eggs are actually hard to crack open sometimes!!!!!

I think not only will they lay longer, but also bigger eggs. I remember reading somewhere that delayed onset of lay resulted in much bigger eggs overall. Maybe they will start in the early spring and give you giant delicious eggs!!!

Speedy(RIR x SLW) was my 3rd to start laying and I'm lucky if she hits 44g 🤦🏼‍♀️ I think hers will just stay small. When she came out of molt, her first egg was 29g LOL... but she does lay 6 eggs a week regularly so that's fine. I tell you who really has surprised me is Dottie(Barred Rock)... she has laid an egg everyday for the last 19 days... MAYBE more, but that's when I started using Flockstar so, yeah. She spends 20 minutes in the box and then goes on with her day - EVERYDAY. It kinda freaks me out cause I feel like they need days off you know??

I can hardly wait to see them. They should be a light powdery blue kind of color. She also has a chance of laying brown though... so we will see... maybe tomorrow :gig

Oh my... I just looked over the past 3 weeks... and I am averaging 62 eggs a week
Wow on 62 a week. Do you give lots away? Not even sure what I would do with that many! Lol. My whole family would be set.

This whole post has me wow! 19 days in a row that is crazy!!!!! I think my girls will stay med but thinking, hoping, for a little bit bigger than high 40's.

Will be interesting to see how the other girls are with their eggs. I do with Ditzy would start soon since I want to hatch some of hers and they say not to hatch some of the first ones. Was hoping she would be able to hatch some, or someone else sit on them, around when I would get the ones I will be ordering which would be around April or May.

Laughing at tough to crack 😆 reminds me. My hen who lays the green one laid her first one on our cement patio. Didn’t even break it open.

I wonder how long you have to wait? Like a couple weeks or something while glitches work themselves out?

I have given some eggs away... like a dozen to a couple of neighbors and told them when it's empty to return the carton for a refill LOL

I surprisingly don't end up with an excessive amount of eggs because there are so many people to feed here haha

We did that all summer because we had 5 cartons of eggs every 2 weeks from 4 birds.
