awww love that stage it is so cute!!!!!! It feels like forever since mine were little and they are only 8 months. LOL (well guess 1/8 they will be 9 mo)
Is it kinda precious. They are terrified of me though LOL

A few of them were having pasty butt problems in the beginning and so they associate me with being grabbed and held hostage with their butts under running water hahaha

Alright it's official... all hatching eggs are in the mail on the way to me! They should arrive (USPS expected date) on Monday.

There are 15 Welsh Harlequin eggs and 6 cayuga eggs.

I have an incubator coming tomorrow that I will set up in preparation. I will put 12 eggs in the incubator and give 9 to Broody Blackie to start. After I candle for the first time and remove any non-developing/early quitters, I will probably put whatever viable eggs remain under blackie... I expect at least half of them to not develop so it should end up being a good number of viable eggs to provide to Blackie in the end. Fingers crossed that USPS doesn't totally thrash them....

Oh no on them being afraid of you. I had 1 that had it a couple times. But now can't think of who. think it may have been Fajita which I guess may explain why she doesn't come near me now. haahaa.

Oh how exciting!!!!!!! I really hope they arrive in good condition and many thrive for you!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see little ducklings they are so stinking cute! I would love ducks but don't want the mess or have the yard space for them. LOL

ok now really confused and thinking maybe the run egg was Nuggets???? If she really did take Tue off, then laid on Wed she should have laid today for sure and she didn't......... But if that was her egg in the run then that means she laid 7 days in a row since she laid yesterday........ But I guess the beginning of Dec she did have 1 that she laid 1 egg, then a day off, then she laid 3, day off, then 6 day off, then it was the 5, and now 1 again..... so maybe just another fluke of just 1 before a day off.

I fully expected Hummer to lay today too since her last 4 she only had 1 day between them so was hoping she was back to every other day and nope she didn't lay either.

So stinks that neither laid since I am watching my grand daughter this afternoon and she LOVES the chickens but since they started laying I haven't really had her so she has only been able to collect eggs I think once or twice and was so excited. I thought for sure she would have 2 to get today since I got Annabelles since she laid earlier this morning and it was in the coop outside the nest box so I didn't want to leave it in the cold.

Man, what the heck with these girls. Just when you think you've got it figured out... more confusion.

And again what the heck with these girls not laying eggs for your granddaughter! Gosh. They need a serious timeout. :idunno
