It's going to be super cold.

It depends on him. If he acts up I'll put him in the smaller pen.
Is the smaller pen next to the other birds? honestly what i have read about this type of peafowl i would put him in a pen next to them if you are not going to quarantine for the simple fact that peafowl are territorial and greens can be mean and way more flighty.
Being penned next to each other would give them time to get to know each other and a chance for you to observe them , rather than have a pen full of birds going after the newbe and you trying to get him out of there while they are after him, I could see some birds getting injured or even you and i would hate for that to happen..

PS if your peas get after the newbee you may have guineas after him as well. They get a little hood mentality too

I'm more worried about the guineas going after him than the other peas! They are interesting!

I have one BIG male guinea that rules the roost the peas are just now standing up to him!

A couple of nights ago I was about to shoot another one of them **** guineas. I was calling the kids into the coop for feeding and the night. The boys would almost get to the door and a guinea would come up from behind and goose him making him jump up on top the pen. Happened three times!

They don't bother the hens, the hens don't put up with no dang guinea antics. Last Friday in March can't come quick enough, we are going to cut WAY down on the guinea population.

Eight plus inches of snow expected to start tomorrow afternoon,,thru Sunday, then winds Monday of 25mph,,and temps down to 11 degrees at night, all next week temps not supposed to get above the low 20's.
