Ive lost my written life history !!!update~ flunked interview!

Ah, I find interviews easy, once I force myself to relax - after all, you hav enothing to lose, you're going to meet a few people you might work with, or not - rather they like you and you like them BEFORE you're working with them 8 hours a day!

I never feel bad when I lose on an interview, its a step forward not back - I've in turn turned down jobs because the people were weird or the mondy not enough...

When you think seriously of an interview, its not a bad or scary thing at all!

Bantymum... When you interview, go in there with confidence and KNOW that you're a good employee!
First and foremost- When you shake the interviewer's hand, make sure it's a firm shake, not a limp hand!! Sit up straight, look the interviewer in the eye, nod your head and indicate that you are listening, and if you don't know an answer, say so. Don't BS an interviewer because they can tell. They'd rather hear, "I don't know" or "I'm not sure what I would do in that situation".
Do something nice for yourself so you feel good when you go in. Get a blow out, have your nails done, get a massage, whatever it is that makes you feel great. Then go get em!!
As far as the computer... Buy a thumb drive, put your resume and other sensitive information on it and put it in a safe!
Good luck!

Thankyou again everyone, Yes Ive done it, it took most of the afternoon, in between smokes and coffee!!!slap!
Now I just have to add the finishing touches to covering letter etc.
Thanks for the interview hints, Im quite experienced in that area, I used to work in a recruitment section of a University and I had to sit on panels and explain conditions of service to all interviewees and answer any personnel questions.
But that was a long time ago however Im not scared, i dont think?!
Yes Ive saved it to a flash drive and cd, so Id better not lose them!!!
thanks again
Helen

I cant believe it, I spent all day addressing the selection criteria last week and rebuilding my resume and I got the call on Friday saying that they would like to invite me for an interview!
Hooray for now, I have the chat on Thursday at 10am.
Oh boy, im going to be a little nervous but ill pray that the words will come out properly on the day.
This is the only job that i have applied for for 3 years and it was a fluke that I spotted the notice that fateful day.
Wow, im getting really excited, theres only 2 people on the panel. I used to work as a recruitment officer at a University so i had to sit on panels myself so I know what im in for!
The job is a receptionist admin officer at a Government/church run employment agency helping people get back into the workforce, Ill deal with mums like me, long term unemployed, excons, immigrants etc, so diverse.
I really want this job so I can help people improve their lives without having a degree!
Im the woman for the job now i just have to convince them!

Hope it goes great on Thursday - you know you would be a great fit for the job, and a little enthusiasm and energy goes a LONG way towards making a positive impression.

I used to hire all the time, and I'd rather see someone who was excited about the job and enthusiastic with lesser qualifications anyday than someone with the perfect resume who acted like they couldn't care at all about the company, job or the duties.

You'll do great - hope you get the job!

Bantymum,

Ooops... I just -have- to translate that one into Australian for you! Though I'm sure you've already figured out that it doesn't mean the same thing. :-0

"Good Luck Banytmum! We're barracking/cheering for you!"
:)
