Ivermectin and corrid at the same time?

I feel awful and recently had one chicken die from coccidiosis in our flock. She and her buddy were 8 weeks old and new additions to our flock of ten chickens. We free range our chickens during the day. They were starting to integrate although pecking did occur occasionally but I tried to keep a watchful eye. The day before she was running around as usual then the next day she was exhibiting signs of coccidiosis before passing very quickly. She was only 8 weeks old. Her buddy is exhibiting no symptoms. No other hens are exhibiting signs of coccidiosis but I’m dosing their water and cleaning out the coop.

This morning I unfortunately noticed a lot of preening…I still need to confirm if they actually have mites/lice but just so I know in case, can ivermectin be used at the same time as corrid? I also don’t want to overwhelm the chickens using two meds at the same time unless I really need to!

Thanks for your help!!

It's important to understand what each med actually does in order to determine if they are going to interfere with each other.

Worm meds are a sedative and put the worms to sleep so their life cycle can't be completed and they die. The coccidiostat blocks vitamin B-1 which deprives the coccidia of an important nutrient and it stops them from completing their life cycle. As you can see, each works in a much different way, so it's not a problem using them at the same time.
