Hi everyone.
Firstly I’m sorry I think I’ve put my question in the wrong forum but I couldn’t another one suitable.

So I use ivermectin drops on my chickens skin for worms, lice and mites.
But I’m trying to find out if you can eat a chicken treated with ivermectin and if so how long is the wait period?

Thank you everybody.

Do you put Ivermectin on every day? What kind of worms are you trying to treat?

Since it is not labeled for chickens, there's no official withdrawal period for meat and eggs for drug residue. The withdrawal time for cattle is 48 days. I would wait at least twice that for a chicken.

Hi, I use it every 3 months. I was told to get it for a scaly leg mite problem I had and was told it works on worms also. Would anyone know of a good wormer for chickens with no withholding period?

Cattle get far larger doses, I hope the meat withdrawal time would be a bit shorter on chickens? I’m interested too as I treated a cockerel I’m thinking of keeping, but if he doesn’t adjust his attitude I would prefer to eat him and I do not want to wait 14 more weeks to deal with him if that’s the case!
