Cool. I cross my CL roo over a Silver Laced Cochin, they produce sexlinks.A blue and a black.
The hova-bator 1588. It has actually been incredible easy, just like everyone said. I open it once a day to add more water, and the rest of the time it's on it's own.
Yeah, the eggs are from our flock. We have a splash Silkie hen, and a blue Roo.
Quick question, is day one the set day, or the next day? That's a little confusing to me.
Well good, then we are on day 3 like I thought.
The only silver laced birds I have are the Wyandottes, but I dislike them, so we are not setting any if their eggs.
What's everyone keeping their humidity at?
I had 42 in my incubator; 4 were duds and 2 died early. So I have 36 growing.
Just joining this thread. I have 17 eggs in my incubator that are a cross between my red star hens:And my Barred Rock Roo:
I figure if I'm really lucky maybe I'll get some barred chickens with orange undertones. Due date is 1/25. I just candled yesterday and 15 of the 17 showed some signs of development, with the last two being too dark to tell. Hatch a long thread is a great idea - I'm happy to be joining this one on my first hatch!
WelcomeJust found this thread! We are on day 3 of our very first hatch, in our very first incubator. 7 Silkie eggs, and 8 cream legbar crossed with sex link or Cochin eggs. Very excited. We wanted to do a test batch before we start just Cream eggs.
