Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

A blue and a black.
The hova-bator 1588. It has actually been incredible easy, just like everyone said. I open it once a day to add more water, and the rest of the time it's on it's own.
Yeah, the eggs are from our flock. We have a splash Silkie hen, and a blue Roo.

Quick question, is day one the set day, or the next day? That's a little confusing to me.
Cool. I cross my CL roo over a Silver Laced Cochin, they produce sexlinks.

I love the hovabator I have 2.

Set day is day 0, 24hrs later is day 1

Well good, then we are on day 3 like I thought.

The only silver laced birds I have are the Wyandottes, but I dislike them, so we are not setting any if their eggs.

LOL thats funny. My SLW are ok but they are super bossy to the other hens in their coop, mean little things. I feel like we have discussed this before, hmm maybe deja vu lol.

Lol, we have on the hybrid thread! I have seen your Cochin crosses...I remember now, cause you just posted them this morning again, talking about how they're getting ready to lay eggs. Right?
I talk bad about the Wyandottes all the time, they are mean little things. We had two from our very first chickens, and then an older one we gave a home to and she is exactly like our original two. So, it's not just ours that are awful.

My Silver laced Wyandottes were part of my original chickens also. They are going on 2 years old. I don't have plans to get more of them in the future. I may get more SLC though to continue on with the CL sexlink crosses.

Just joining this thread. I have 17 eggs in my incubator that are a cross between my red star hens: And my Barred Rock Roo: I figure if I'm really lucky maybe I'll get some barred chickens with orange undertones. Due date is 1/25. I just candled yesterday and 15 of the 17 showed some signs of development, with the last two being too dark to tell. Hatch a long thread is a great idea - I'm happy to be joining this one on my first hatch!
Just found this thread! We are on day 3 of our very first hatch, in our very first incubator. 7 Silkie eggs, and 8 cream legbar crossed with sex link or Cochin eggs. Very excited. We wanted to do a test batch before we start just Cream eggs.
Welcome:)
