Starting to zip!

I was a little worried about this one because there was a tiny blood spot on his pip, but he seems to be doing fine now.

congratulations!

This little one is really causing a ruckus in there....would it be better for me to take it out? The new chick is running all around knocking the other eggs together and rolling them over trying to find a friend. Is it safer to leave him in or take him out?

Also, the humidity is holding strong at 80% now - should I take out one of the plugs briefly to get is back down to ~65% or should I just leave that alone too?

it's okay.. she is just sounding the alarm for everyone else. time to get up everyone!! it's fine for her to run over the other eggs.. I usually try to clump them in the center and create a racetrack around the outside for chicks to try out their new sealegs.

the humidity will continue to spike as they hatch, so just leave it (especially if you have another pip? do not open)

edit: I dont use the red plugs at all ever

I don't know...5 months gestation.........she is under 1 year...............not long I would guess.
The ultra sound is a great idea..........It will help you know about a feed program..........
Don't want to over feed, but she will need some extra toward the end.
I  really miss my sheep. I had registered Corridales.
One year they went nuts........and I had changed their feed program prior to breeding to a high protein diet.
I (they LOL) had almost all triplets a few twins.. Worked my self to  near death.....
'As we grew older, it became more and more difficult to care for them,.feet trimming , lambing in the middle of the night ect.
And now chickens the past 5 or so  years..............Its nice. Do not have to get up every two to four hours to feed orphan lambs........

We think shes a month in. But I think more my dad is the one who thinks that. We never seperate them cause they're our only sheep now. If she's More in then I think it's any day. Dad is a big handsome tan dorper. We were told he was a common hair sheep. They were wrong. As for mammy we have no idea. We are keeping an eye on her. We want a lamb so bad. I think we have a few more months.

Well I think I lost one. As far as I can tell she was about 75% zipped and her already hatched sibling rolled her over causing liquid to pool up around her beak and drown her. I've taken the already hatched ball of energy out and put it in the brooder and I turned the egg that I think has died, but I haven't seen her move since - not even any breathing, which was very easy to see before.

Kind of a bummer too, this was the first one to pip, and the one that was chirping the most in the begining. Frustrating to know that she was only about five to ten minutes away from being hatched when she died. Oh well - it's my first hatch, so I knew I was going to make some mistakes. It's hard to tell where the line is when I should intervene and when I should just leave things alone. This is one where I should have stepped in a little sooner.

Bummer. I am sorry..............
And it never gets better when you lose one.just hurts.
Try not to second guess yourself about helping sooner.it is a
maybe/maybe not.so hard to know..
You are doing great......................

I tried to get pictures of my Am eggs that I just purchased.......
The color just did not come out at all...............looks green.
but they are a lovely blue a little darker than robins egg blue...............

Here is the one I think I lost:

She had black feathers, that would have been neat.

And here us #3 starting to zip just now:

I got mine from another breeder, and these are the wheaten/blue wheaten eggs I'm incubating:
400

I had to use the flash on these or they looked green from the lighting in my house. I've been eyeing these eggs since last year, and I finally couldn't resist. Day 8 today. Good luck on your hatch!!
