Hi everyone!! Just joining the thread..I set 9 eggs on the morning of Dec 17, so we are getting close..i candled 3 days ago and all but one egg seem to developing well...very excited if that is the case!! :) in the past I've only had 2 hatch each time..Im thinking that the younger flock might have better eggs :) Good luck everyone Im excited to see all the progress!!

so frustrated right now! I’m on day 11 and nothing major had gone wrong (power outages, etc). I put my extra thermometer in a couple days ago and my temp has been dead on....I always check everything before leaving each morning and then a couple times each night. I just did my first evening check and my base thermometer had been switched from inside to outside and the incubator was unplugged and cold! (70*). No one will admit messing with it or the strip it’s plugged into so I have no idea for sure how long it was off! I didn’t open it....I just restarted and turned on my extra thermometer. i will wait until lockdown to candle again and may delay lockdown slightly to accommodate for the temporary lower temp.:hit:he:fl

my temporary freak out has passed. I looked back and the ice-storm related power outages of 5 hours occurred during my last quail hatch and I don’t think there was significant damage as a result. at least this time the temp in the house was still at 70+

Ugh. Well, better too low than a high temp spike. I wouldn’t worry much either. Glad you are no longer freaking out. :D
