Java and Green Peafowl Came in from Cherokee Trail Farm

The original greens were in a holding pen before they were separated for breeding season, and the parents of those greens is what your kids are out of. The only classification you can give them is 100 % pure greens if I were you I wouldn't waste my time on green spaldings I would just work on the 100 % greens there a lot better looking bird and no blue cross.

Steve you make some good points....100% green are worth alot more than a spalding. If you like greens breed greens, myself only reason for spalding is adding new colors with green types.

White spaldings, pieds, high % look grand. Like a white even, india blue white color, or a white spalding High % the spalding is a grand looking bird.

Now the 100% green peacock would be ok to breed to spalding in these new colors, to get higher % green blood.

If purity is so important then shouldn't the green sub-species be kept pure? A green "mutt" is still that, just a "mutt" and of no breeding value other tahn an aesthetic one and beauty is in the eye of the beholder is it not? Sounds like some have a REALLY high opinion of their PERSONAL preference. Too bad they try to pass it off as more than that.

Wow, I never expected anyone to take anything personal or judge others views...

Truth and beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

and yes, each person will glady post and breed what they enjoy, not what they dont like... Its like me telling you German Shepards are the Best dogs in the world... yet someone else who hates german shepards my say that labs are the best dogs in the world..

To each there own. This is supposed to be to show people new stock, ask questions, and have friendly conversations... please dont sound like someones imposing there own views on anything... what works for one may not work for another.

Please keep my TOPIC friendly... and not indirectly Rude.

Well it looks like you either can't read or are unable to under stand the first post of how these chicks became. What should I have done knock them in the head because they don't fit your standards?????, Who is to say that the so called pure sub - species are PURE do you have a paper trail with DnA Blood lines????????. Not to many folks can tell the sub-species apart if they are standing by all three, I know where all of my blood lines came from can you say the same?, At least I can say mine are 100% PURE GREEN with no BLUE (spalding) in them, and I am not out here selling high % spaldings for PURE Java greens like some do. Once you put a blue blood line in a pure green it WILL NEVER be PURE again it will always be a spalding.

We do raise Spaldings on our farm but no green spaldings, I have a trio of 7/8 Spalding Pieds that in my opinion are about the best that I have seen and the only others that I have seen were the parents. we do have Purple, Cameo, White Eye, Purple Black Shoulder in the spalding variety so I have nothing against spaldings just the green ones that people sale for pure java greens.

And as for breeding value if you wanted anything spalding or if you wanted your spalding Cameo, Purple, Pied, Opal, Bronze and the list goes on to a higher % why waste a Java, Indo-Chinese or Burmese out of your breeding pens when you have Pure greens to do it with???

BETTER LOOKING THAN THE GREEN SPALDING.

That's more than I have every wrote on any forum.

HAVE A GREAT DAY.........
