I got a picture of my ladies drinking out of a bucket.

I have been really pleased with how this pullet is developing. You can tell the birds are molting horribly with the feathers all over.

She must always pose for her pictures. If she is not posing, wether she is standing still or not, it always ends up blurry. Also, I am not sure why her earlobe looks like a pale purple color, but in real life it is almost as dark of a red as her comb and wattles. All my chickens that are not Jersey Giants have stopped laying due to molt. So I get 3-4 eggs a day mostly from the Jerseys. How are everyone else's birds doing?

I think production is back up, not sure about today. What color are your eggs?

Mine are still too young to lay. Their breeder gets a light to mid brown egg. The black ones were hatched in June so I don't expect eggs until probably after the first of the year.

I've run into more problems with the white ones: now that they are coming out of a molt, I'm seeing random black feathers. I'm going to keep the pullets for eggs and eat the cockerels and figure it an expensive lesson learned. Just stick to black ones. They are my favorites anyway.

Sorry for the late response, I am now using a computer because my phone is acting up. My girls lay light to dark brown eggs, some almost white. Here is a picture from a while ago:

I have not been able to come on very often, but here is a picture of one of my girls next to my tom turkey from a little while ago:
This is the only time I have managed to get a picture of them directly next to him. They are now about 6 months and 10 days or something like that.

Love our girls! Their hatch date was 04/11/22, we got ours from Cackle Hatchery. They've been a huge hit with the neighbor kiddos, and we've loved having the hens scratch around in the yard while we do garden work. Please forgive the face I'm making but it's probably one of the better pictures I have to show their size *for scale I'm 5'8" and they're almost up to my knee when they stand straight* . I got into them due to my love of heritage breeds, and while we bought more commercially, when we plan to expand the flock eventually we're going to go more local with breeders for *hopefully* more accurate historical lines. We're located in NJ so it seemed like a perfect fit!
