Autumn is trying very hard to make friends with the 6 week old Light Brahma girls. She desperately wants to fit in lol

They climbed up under the coop on my pile of wood scraps and she was trying to find a way to fit in with them.

Don't give up hope until s/he crows or lays an egg, Memphis!! Sometimes with young ones, looks are incredibly deceiving.

Can you give us a good shot of the legs?

They are friendly. Most of them.
You will see a lot more pictures of young kids holding roosters that are as big as they are with this breed.
I thought rooster too ,but since I'm new to this breed to I was waiting for someone that has had them for a while.
Good luck with what ever you do with Starbucks.

Don't despair! Finding homes for your roosters is also a good way to find more chicken folks who will help you out. Some roosters are good and some roosters are bad. When I was seven years old all roosters at our house ran from me, but would flog my mother and sister. I was the official rooster-round-up-er. I'd snatch up a rooster and tote that thing around while I filled his ears with jabbering. Just remember a rooster the size of JG is a formidable opponent for a 7 year old. Heck, those little two pound bantams can put a hurting on you. Since I don't have kids and keep my birds in a well fenced area, I don't mind a human-aggressive rooster but I'll cull one for being mean to the hens. But in your case I'd keep hens only for the sake of your child. You can never trust a rooster with a small child.

If anyone at all might be interested. I have 3---- 5 week cockerals in need of homes. I hatched them myself from eggs bought from a breeder in Ohio. I cannot have roosters in my area, never mind 3 of them. Im located just outside Springfield, MA. thanks

Jeez, as far as I know, up here in Alaska we get 1 chance to show a year, during the state fair. Unfortunately I can't fly 1600 miles to go to a show in the Lower 48. Maybe before airline tickets got so expensive, but...ugh. Wish we had more going on up here, but winter is kinda dreary for everybody.

I'm hoping to help my daughter show some birds next year after they have been laying. None of our girls should start laying until end of summertime. I don't know if they even are good enough to show, but it would be fun for her to do the experience and for now that's what matters. If she enjoys it we can be more diligent about the birds we get for that. How awesome your girl won!
