Well I bought my 1st Jersey Giants from the local Feed Mill. Both are same age/4 weeks old and are supposed to be pullets, but look very different. Is one a roo? What do you think?
Hi All.... I hatched out some JG from the G. Miller line....3 weeks old...I'll run out to the barn to get photos....
I had to band them anyway... (I have Black Marans that just hatched.... )
here are my babies:
I would like an opinion on this bird....Is it a Jersey Giant??
Same age as above..3 weeks...
I know there was some blue laced red wyandottes in this hatch ... because of the legs I am assuming this is one of those??
I had a bit of a struggle, please excuse the photos...
Gee, I'm glad I'm not the only one who has trouble telling them apart after they hatch. I go thru the egg shells to see who hatched and then I try to figure it out. Sometimes I just chunk them all in the brooder and wait for them to grow out before I even try. (sigh) My old brain is to tired in the morning when I get home from work and in too much of a hurry at night before I go in. As long as they all have food and water and look bright eyed, they are good till my day off when I get to sit down and play with them. I love relaxing to the little chirps.
That is kind what happened to me.... They are all in the brooder together... I have newly hatched marans, that will look very similar in a couple weeks. I banded the ones I am confident are JG.... This one confuses me cause of foot colour and size ( it is bigger)... Any opinions?... Thanks
