They will never forget this! My son's 1st grade class hatched ducklings. Everyone pitched in to buy the eggs, something that happened in first grade every year.

Alas, once the eggs were set, COVID hit and the schools ended up closing for the remainder of the year. His teacher still incubated the eggs, and shared photos and videos with the kids, but I know she and they were disappointed. Still, it was special.

The next year, I got to substitute teach in first grade right after the ducklings hatched. The kiddos were so enamoured...and my little guy (then a second grader) was so excited to see both mom AND ducklings after school let out that day!
 
I quickly candled all the eggs before I left at 4, and added more water to my shoestring wick to hopefully keep the humidity through Monday.

These are the two lightest eggs. I have to keep myself busy this weekend! Positive thoughts that everything will work out ok through the weekend!
