Jpeg avatar

    I didn't see this addressed anywhere when I searched the avatar threads in this folder: Although the instructions say an acceptable format is jpeg, the system would not accept my jpg avatar. I converted it to a gif and it took it. I just thought I'd mention it. I see most folks are using Photobucket, which I guess automatically uses gif files.

    Great question. The system takes JPG and GIF files just fine, but often the JPGS (especially resized from photobucket) are bigger, in kilobytes, than our max. Often the gifs are smaller in kb and load just fine. In fact, there are at least 1,500 jpg avatars loaded on BYC.
