Judge my Marans Roo, Please!

Well, I've got several roos with black breasts, but even more hens that are almost solid black. I think I'm going to use this boy to try and introduce some more color, and maybe they will even themselves out. Do you think?

I kept an over-colored cockerel too, because of darker girls, so that makes sense to me. I think it’s a tough balancing act with this breed.

Very nice size for such a young bird, I'd check for side sprigs and things too.
The tail is turning out nicely, soon I'm sure it will be finished.
No one mentioned the feet, because they're fine.

The only problem, the leakage on the front of his neck. When a bird gets leakage, it only gets more. And it is very hard to breed out. So I'd breed it to a very dark female and make sure you know who the chicks are. Watch for leakage and cull any with it so you don't

... What. I can't make head or tail of this bit, what do you mean?
And yes, he will likely be bread to a dark female. I just have to figure which has the best comb and and tail.
I know one girl that has a fabulous comb (albit a bit oversized and floppy, but... I don't know. It's got good texture, color, and points) I'm still waiting on my latest girls to grow out. So far I haven't found a hen that I really like yet.

I meant the tail angle was good, but he had a few feathers to grow yet. I don't mind a little too big of a comb on hens. Typically Marans have pretty large combs anyways.

He'll be six months old next month, hatched June 10.

Notice that the Ear Tufts are really the correct color. Also notice that his breast has feather shafting. Nothing wrong with the Comb does not have Pox.
