July 2023 Hatch-A-Long

Pics
Congratulations! I know you’ve been waiting a long time for a good hatch! 😊
Thank you! :hugs I dislike hatching duck eggs myself because of my bad incubator. That extra week (or two in the case of Muscovy!) compared to chicken eggs is often too much.

My eggs are now on lockdown. I'm actually a day late and one of the blues has already internally pipped. I intended to hatch the Marans separate but one of my boys make me add "pickle" the olive egg in with them.

I candled my polish eggs again. 4 viable eggs. 3/4 of the potentially scrambled or detached-aircell eggs were alive, but the 4th dropped off, and of the others, 1 solo little trooper. It seems to have developed a saddled aircell, but is still looking good.
10 days until they hatch.
Also I had a turkey poult hatch today! Probably my last hatch of the year because fertility has seriously fallen off. I set another batch of 22 but only 4 began growing. Seems like the hens got tired of their men. I’ve got a few still laying but I see no point to incubating their eggs when they likely won’t be fertile.

How does everyone handle the waiting game so well?! Lol

Day 20 here. No pipping. I know it’s premature but it’s really making me doubt if I’ll have any of the 6 hatch. Hopefully I see some movement tomorrow 🤞🏼
We don't! 🤪

I have one egg with an external pip! Chirping & wiggling… and it’s not even the egg (“39g”) that I put a safety hole in at 6AM. 😱
The pecking/chewing noises have subsided from “39g,” and I am hoping against hope that I didn’t destroy it with the safety hole!!
The hard part was that I’d been expecting it to hatch on Sunday or Monday, so I don’t know what to think.
