If she starts laying I’ll set her eggs in the bator.

Do all white silkies get the blue on them? Mine has gorgeous blue on her face and feet.

Yes they should! They also have 5 toes and black skin. I think that is were the blue tint comes from.

Chubs has 8 toes on one foot and 5 on the other. That’s why I kept her. I would’ve kept her whether she was a cockerel or pullet. She’s my first silkie ever. She free ranges in our fenced in area and is very smart because she is always in the bushes so you can never see her. She’s always eating the wild strawberries in there.

I have a buff silkie as well and hope it’s a pullet. It’s still in the brooder because she was part of the escape crew I had this week. 4 of them including my gorgeous Polish Deathlayers escaped and I thought I lost them for good. My roosters loudmouth called them back after I looked for them for hours and cried my eyes out (I know I’m pathetic).

For those of you following along with my "I am not Hatching in July" manufactured drama. I really wasn't going too. I am picking up seven dozen eggs on Friday, so not only will I be hatching, but I will also make the 4th of July as well.

Barnyard mix of almost everything under the sun. Last batch I got from this couple were 100% fertilized.

I jumped ahead a month. (of July). I am not hatching in July, I am not hatching in July.

I guess I will be. Second Black Australorp on a nest. Total of four sitting hens now. Gonna be eating a lot of chicken, is all I can say...
